What does the Archbishop of Canterbury suggest for bridging divides in conflict zones? What are the Church doing about declining spirituality? How was it leading the country through the death of the Queen and the coronation of the King?

Rory and Alastair are joined by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, to answer all these questions and more.

One response to “103. Archbishop of Canterbury: Faith, mental health, and the future of the Church”

  1. I know “disagreeing agreeably” is your mantra, but l was disappointed – as a 78-year-old born again atheist – by your failure (is it too dark to call it craven failure?) to challenge Justin Welby on some issues. The place in the interview that had me shouting at the iPad was when, in the context of the C of E’s global stance on gay marriage (there’s oxymoron for you…): the flippant, smooth, lily-livered observation that what they offer in England is a “simple service of welcome and blessing” echoed 100% on every level with the Prince Andrew comment that entertaining Epstein at at Sandringham was “a simple, straightforward shooting weekend “ (apologies for not quoting verbatim, but it’s just after lunch so I can’t risk looking it up exactly in case I throw up) .

Disappointed in you! Huge fan of the podcast, and loved the Manchester live event: bought a Rory tee shirt and a copy of Why Politics Matters for my grandson.
